I think everyone had a "Darrin Hudson" in their lives. Darrin Hudson was in my high school, back in Marlboro, NJ. You know, that person that you had to one-up all the time. Didn't matter what it was: Gear, hair, grades, sports, whatever...it was ON. Well for Darrin and I...it was kicks. Plain and simple. Oddly enough, in a school with over 1000 kids, me and him were the only 2 really into sneakers back then. This is my blog dedicated to Darrin. This is to tell Darrin that I'm still out there, and if he wants to battle, here it is son!! Bring it!! I've since lost touch with Darrin, but thanks to him, you all get to check out the kicks I have amassed over the years. So it is here, that I will archive every pair of shoes I own. It’ll include detailed photos, a grading system, a little tidbit behind each one and every single one will be available for purchase. (Simply POST A COMMENT with your offer). Some other little goodies sprinkled throughout also. Even if I updated a different shoe every week, it would take me about 3 years to complete this project. So sit back and enjoy! The project begins January 1st, 2006...

OTHER COMMENTS: Love soccer shoes. Don't play but love the way they look. I think it stems from my days in NJ high schools and the fact that all the popular kids wore Adidas Sambas and slouch socks with Z. Cavaricci pleated pants. Ah...the Garden State. So I can relive my childhood with these dope soccer kicks updated with a modern tech edge. Thought this was gonna be all Nike didn't ya!

Being a poor-as-shit law student in New York City, I can't afford all that much for a pair of kicks. Still, these top Salas are dope and happen to be in my size. Soo...how's about $10? It's a low-ball offer, I know, but I really don't have any cash to drop and I need a pair of kicks for my indoor soccer league (read: playing in running sneakers is not a good look). Oh, and I'm from Old Bridge and have been rocking my Lefrak City tee since Day 1. Holler at some sentimentality and Route 18 love!

Came across your blog while searching for some sambas for my 4.5 year old son. You definitely took me on a walk down memory lane, with the image of the NJ high school sambas, Z.Cavaricci's, and slouch socks. If you were the same era as I was (mid-late 80's), you probably also folded/rolled the bottoms of those pants, too!

By the way, kids sambas in a size 12.5 are hard to find!

I'm selling a pair of Puma Indoor Soccer Shoes -- Size 11 -- for 10 bucks or best offer. Need the cash for books and college expenses, unforunately.

Additionally, anybody know where I can still buy a pair of old school Top Salas?

I just didn't want another pair of regular ole Samba's again. I still have 2 beat up pair in the closet and time for something new. If they still look as good now as they do in the picture I can offer you $40 for them. Most of the new Sala's are going for 50-70 so I think this is a fair offer. If you can ship them snail mail to me I will pay for that as well. I'm up in Mass. Let me know.

I did some research on these LE's and understand they made these for Japanese men's feet, narrower than the European version of the Sala's. How would you compare the fit of these to say a pair of size 10 Sambas purchased in the US?

Sorry but I have decided not to let these go.
Thanks for your interest anyway.
