BARCELONA: @ BBB.

Summertime at Barcelona and the BBB show is always a lot better than the Winter time. The weather is such a huge factor for this city.
バルセロナとBBB showは冬より断然夏のほうがいい。この都市を楽しむためには天気が大きな要因。


Bread & Butter has really transcended the idea of a tradeshow. It's really more of "show" than anything else. They have their own movie premiers, live performances, gourmet dining and different themed halls are like the pavilions at Disneyland. It's like a theme park. Seriously, if Karl Heinz threw a roller coaster in the middle, he could make BBB a tourist attraction.
Bread&Butterは「トレードショー」と言うものを超越しています。もはや「ショー」と言ったほうがいいでしょう。独自のプレミア映画上映、ライプパフォーマンス、グルメダイニング、そしてディズニーランドにあるようなテーマ別パビリオンがあります。テーマパークのようです。マジで、Karl Heinzがこの中にジェットコースターを入れれば、BBBは観光名所になります。


But of course, it's not fun and games at all. Its lots of work! We are here for business after all. And to me, the best place to conduct business is at their Business Club. It's a VIP lounge where one can work, meet and chit-chat in a chill, cool environment. At your complimentary disposal is incredible food and drink catered by Borchardt. By far my favorite spot in the whole show and it's just one reason why BBB is the best tradeshow on planet earth.
でも、楽しい事だけではありません。お仕事です！結局のところビジネスですから。そして、僕にとってビジネスをする最適な場所はそこのBusiness Clubです。ここは仕事ができ、色々な人と出会い話しができるVIPラウンジです。さらに、Borchardtがケータリングしていたおいしいの食事が無料でいただけます。このショーの一番お気に入りの場所で、BBBが地球一最高のトレードショーである理由の一つでもあります。


Another reason? These little guys. VIP guests of BBB also get 24 hour access to their own chauffeured Mini Coopers or BMWs. You just call a special number and in minutes they scoop you up and whisk you anywhere you need to go. Everyone knows at other tradeshows what a pain in the ass transportation is. Why doesn't anyone else do this?!!? It's awesome.
もう一つの理由？この子達。BBBでのVIPゲストは24時間いつでもドライバー付きのミニクーパーかBMWが乗れます。特別な電話番号をかければ、数分で向かいに来てくれて、どこへでも連れて行ってくれます。他のトレードショーでは交通の便の不自由さには困りますよね。何で他もこうしないのだろう？最高です。



On Independence Day (which means nothing in Europe) I DJed a 4 hour set for the entire Sport & Street Hall of BBB. First time I spun in a while and I had a lot of fun. I experimented with a new technique this time. I had my iPhone next to me playing all my songs on "shuffle mode". I would then try and play these songs as they came up as part of my set. I often find my iPhone has an uncanny ability to build a cool set with the shuffle feature so I tried it live and it was pretty cool. Obviously some songs don't work, but its fun to try and make something out of it.
独立記念日の日（ヨーロッパではまったく関係ないですが）僕はBBBのSport&Street Hallで4時間ＤＪをしました。長い間回していなかったので楽しかったです。今回は新しいテクニックを試してみました。そばに僕のiPhoneを置いて、音楽をシャッフルモードにして、出てくる曲をセットに含ませました。日ごろから僕のiPhoneのシャッフルモードで凄くカッコイイセットを作っているので、ライブで試してみたら結構良かったです。合わない曲もありますが、それをどうはめ込むか試すのがおもしろい。

My friend Ricky who owns some of the coolest stores in Barcelona (Limited Editions, Chikahitsu, Black is Beauty) put together a splendid dinner party along with A.R.C. and adidas. It was a rare and spectacular gathering of some of street cultures luminaries. I really applaud Ricky for putting this together...not to mention it as at the Torre De San Sebastia, a Michelin-star restaurant atop a huge tower overlooking all of Barcelona.
バルセロナ中にカッコイイお店（Limited Editions、Chikahitsu、Black is Beauty) を持っている友達のRickyがA.R.C.とadidasと一緒にディナーパーティーを主催しました。ストリートカルチャー界の著名人たちが一挙に集まったまれな会でした。企画したRickyに拍手を送りたいです。。。しかも、バルセロナを一望できるタワーの上にあるミシュラン星付きのレストラン、Torre De San Sebastiaで行われたこともすごい。

The Contemporary Art Center in BCN has become the mecca of skate parks. There was no special event going on when I snapped this photo. This is your average Friday night.
バルセロナのContemporary Art Centerはスケートパークのメッカになっています。この写真を撮った時は特別なイベントはありませんでした。通常の金曜の夜がこんな感じです。
